Learn MoreProgressive Adult Rehabilitation Center, Inc. is a non-profit organization established in 1956 for the purpose of promoting the well-being of individuals with intellectual disabilities living the cities of Petersburg, Colonial Heights, Hopewell and the counties of Dinwiddie, Prince George, and southern Chesterfield – all in the state of Virginia.
Initially, our mission focused on providing services to children in the Petersburg and surrounding areas. In the 1970’s, our focus shifted to providing services to adults with intellectual disabilities. Over the years, the agency has had several name changes.
Today, we are best known as P.A.R.C. – Progressive Adult Rehabilitation Center, Inc.
Progressive Adult Rehabilitation Center, Inc. (PARC) collects data on an annual basis on each of the core services and programs operated by the agency. Data collected and information obtained from the annual needs assessment surveys conducted with individuals served and community stakeholders are used to evaluate our programs and services and to assist the agency in strategic planning.
PARC Services Sheltered Employment Program is a community-based CARF accredited program that provides opportunities for productive meaningful and compensated work which significantly increases self-esteem for adults with intellectual disabilities.
PARC Supported Employment Program provides opportunities for individuals with moderate to severe disabilities to gain and maintain competitive jobs in the community.
PARC Supported Living Services offers a less structured environment for adults with intellectual disabilities capable of living semi-independent in the community and do not require 24-hour supervision.
Osage House provides 24-hour supports to individuals based upon person-centered planning to address the physical needs of each individual, promote skill building, and provide opportunities that are important for and to important each individual’s personal growth and development.
PARC Day Support Program provides person-centered supports and skill building activities for individuals with intellectual disabilities needing intensive support.
PARC Transportation services are provided to individuals in our program on a daily basis. Vehicles operated by PARC and drivers meet safety requirements and regulations to provide Medicaid transportation services.
